PROCTOR PROGRAM

Proctor parents, also referred to as professional parents, are single individuals or married couples who provide care to children placed in their home. Proctor parents provide a home family environment, nutritious meals, companionship, guidance and physical, social, and emotional care. Proctor care may be short term or for several years depending upon the needs of the child and his/her family.

Parents needed from all cultural backgrounds

Couples must be married

(cannot be cohabiting)​

Must be certified in CPR and First Aid

YOUR ROLE AS A PROCTOR PARENT

PROVIDE

Provide a safe and nurturing home environment, structure, and guidance.

TEACH

Teach basic living and self-sufficiency skills.

ACT

Act as a positive role model.

ENCOURAGE

Encourage the youth to maintain and develop positive relationships.

PROCTOR PARENT QUALIFICATIONS

At least 21 years old

Couples must be married

(cannot be cohabiting)​

Must be certified in CPR and First Aid

Must be able to pass a background screening

Checks for criminal charges and adult/child abuse charges

Must be physically and emotionally stable

Must have adequate space in your home

Must have a stable income sufficient to maintain your household needs

Must have reasonable expectations for the youth in your home

Need to accept the youth’s relationship with his/her natural parents

CBTS, Inc. offers proctor parents additional assistance and support in fulfilling their very important role, along with monthly/as needed training opportunities. Proctor parents are compensated approximately $800 – $2400.00/month depending upon the number of youth placed in the home. The money received is considered to be tax free and not included on your income taxes.
